We understand that transport can be a source of stress to pets so we are very selective on who we work with to get adopted pets home. To ensure the well-being of your newly adopted pet, we have established trust in two transport companies that are also USDA certified.
Both of these companies have pre-determined meeting locations, times, and schedules, which you can easily access on their websites, Facebook pages, or Google Docs links.
Once you finalize the adoption, we will schedule the pet’s transport in coordination with you. Each pet usually has a specific date that it will be ready to arrive. That date will determine which transport company will be transporting your pet as they typically rotate weekends. Pet arrivals are almost always on Saturdays. Very rarely does this change. Once you inform us about the most convenient meeting location for you, we will finalize the adoption process and schedule the transport accordingly. Adopters are expected to be present on the designated day & time, usually, a Saturday, when their pet is scheduled to arrive. The transport company needs us all to be flexible on transport days because although they have a set schedule, they also have to contend with weather, traffic and unforeseen circumstances.
We prioritize transparency and accessibility by providing all the necessary information about the transport process and allowing you to choose the most convenient meeting location. Rest assured, we strive to make the transportation experience as smooth and stress-free as possible for you and your new family member.
Option 1: HEARTS is owned and operated by Jason and Amanda Hopson, a husband-and-wife team who treats pets with utmost care. They provide a 24-hour transport service, which helps reduce stress for the pets. You can find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063701646262 , and their meeting locations can be found on their website at https://heartsllc.com/info/
Option 2: Hoods Pet Express is owned by Debbie Hood who also has a rescue and has been doing northern transports for years. This is also a 24 hour transport. You can find them on FB at https://www.facebook.com/HPetexpress22 and you can find their schedule and meeting locations on their website at https://hoodspetexpress.wordpress.com
Due to MA State law, only pets going to another licensed rescue can go into MA.
Additionally, if you decide to take a road trip and personally pick up your adopted pet, the transport portion of the fee will be waived. Just know that you will probably be coming to West TN to pick up. The exact address will depend on who is fostering that pet.
